The Global Development and Peace M.A. online program offers students the choice of four tracks: Political Economy and Development, Culture and Conflict Resolution; Global Management; and Global Communications. Each of the specialized tracks includes three courses in the track as well as one additional elective outside the student’s selected track.
No matter which track is chosen all students must complete these core courses: Conflict Analysis and Resolution, Issues in Economic Development, Sociopolitical Dimensions of the World’s Religions, Internship, Tutorial, and the final Thesis. Students are required to have completed at least two years of university study in a second language in addition to English or must demonstrate competency at that level prior to completion of the program.
All U.S. students and students from other English speaking countries who are enrolled in the Global Development and Peace online program are required to complete a minimum two-week internship each year in a country in which the foreign language they have studied is spoken. International students have the option of doing their internship either in the United States or overseas. Students must have completed at least 18 credits in the program to commence their internships. This is a two year program, students cannot complete the program in under two years.
