Become a UB Partner
You may not know it, but the University of Bridgeport has a significant impact in Fairfield County and the City of Bridgeport. Annually, students, employees, and visitors to UB contribute $37 million dollars to the local economy. UB is one of the largest employers in the City of Bridgeport and brings visitors and students to the area from around the globe. UB’s Clinics in the Health Sciences program treat 25,000 patients annually at no fee or reduced costs, and provide much-needed services for low-income residents in Fairfield County.
In many ways, UB partners with area businesses and corporations to provide educational programming while giving students exposure to the workplace at the same time. All of this would not be possible without the financial support of those who believe in the mission of the University.
Each gift to the University helps to enhance the national reputation of UB. This year, UB was ranked as an institution of higher education with one of the highest returns on investment in the entire higher education arena and our online education programs were ranked first in the country. The National Science Foundation awarded UB $200,000 to educate future teachers in STEM disciplines in urban areas, and local philanthropist Ernest Trefz significantly invested in the School of Business. All of these accomplishments enhance UB’s reputation, which in turn brings attention to the wonderful things happening in the greater Bridgeport area.
As a community member, your commitment to UB through financial support speaks volumes. As UB evolves with changing technology, blended and online learning opportunities, and increased response to the different educational needs of our students to stay competitive and relevant, it is important that those who are closest to the University invest in its progress. In addition, annually UB looks to area businesses to support a number of events - from our annual golf tournament to the Ernest C. Trefz School of Business’s Executive Lecture Series. If your organization would like to become a sponsor or partner with UB on any of these events, please contact Mary-Jane Foster, Vice President for University Relations at 203-576-4696 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to working with you.
