The Annual Fund: An Investment in UB
Your annual gift to the University of Bridgeport provides an essential fiscal bridge between endowment and tuition revenue and the University’s operating budget.
Every gift to the annual fund makes a difference, no matter what the size. Last year, donations to UB exceeded $2 million, providing, for instance, the University with the ability to make improvements to Cortright Hall which is home to the Alumni Office. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, improvements were also made to the walkway outside of Marina and to the Cox Student Center.
Annual fund gifts also supported the 50+ events that campus activities organizations and student programming produced which featured a night with TED star Sara Kay, a presentation by a Holocaust survivor, and a week-long service project students undertook over spring break. Donors also made possible expanded curriculum in Health Sciences and allowed SASD students to compete in national competitions. These are just a few of the examples of what has been made possible by the generosity of our donors.
Alumni gifts specifically count toward UB’s participation rates, which are used by evaluators such as U.S. News and World Report to determine the University’s rankings and grantors who want to know that we have broad support from alumni, faculty, staff, and Trustees. An annual gift is your vote of confidence in UB, and as the University’s rankings increase, so does the value of your degree!
