UB Presents "The Good Lie" Film Screening

Join us for a pre-show reception and benefit film screening of "The Good Lie" to help support Humanity Helping Sudan. Following the film, UB Alumnus Ger Duany will be available for a Q&A session with the audience about his personal experience as a Lost Boy of Sudan and the filming of his touching story.

All net proceeds will be given to the Humanity Helping Sudan project. Learn more at www.humanityhelpingsudanproject.org

Comedian Henry Phillips

On April 4th at 8:00 P.M. Henry Phillips will be performing at the Bijou Theatre in downtown Bridgeport. He has been seen and heard performing on 'Comedy Central Presents', ABC's 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' as well as satellite and radio nationwide. His critically acclaimed albums have earned him mention in Billboard magazine's 'Critic's Choice' as well as acclaim from notable artists such as Moby, who refers to Phillips' as "disconcertingly funny".

4:30 - 6:30 P.M. Student Support Services will be hosting a stress reduction, yoga and breath work series in the Commuter Lounge of the Student Center.

7:00 - 8:15 P.M. Join the Monday Yoga class in the Commuter Lounge.

Tuesday, March 24

10:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. Student Support Services will have a bake sale in the Library Lobby and the Hub to raise awareness on child hunger in the U.S. and raise funds for Share Our Strengths. 

12:00 - 2:00 P.M. Stop by the Counseling Services table in the Library Lobby to learn about gambling awareness

12:00 - 2:00 P.M. Enjoy healthy meals in the Twisted Cafe (Student Center Basement). All options under $5.00. 

12:00 - 2:00 P.M. Join International Student Services to watch a presentation and eat at the Puerto Rican Coffee House in the Great Room

12:00 - 2:00 P.M. If you are a sophomore, join the rest of your class in the Town Hall Meeting in room 207/209 of the Student Center.

12:15 - 1:30 P.M. Come to the Commuter lounge for yoga and meditation with the Wellness Club. 

6:00 - 8:30 P.M. Join the Build On Group who will be playing games and serving refreshments in the Private Dining Room.

8:00 - 10:00 P.M. The sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will be hosting, "Grocery Bingo" in the Great Room. Students will learn about how to budget their money while playing games and winning great prizes

Wednesday, March 25

12:00 - 5:00 P.M. Treat yourself wiht an empanada from the Chi Upsilon Sorority, Inc. in the Library Lobby

5:30 - 7:30 P.M. Come to the Jacobson Lecture Hall (Mandeville Room 104) to watch Al Subbloie present, "How do You Start up a Company and Take it to a Public Offering?" as part of the Executive Speaker Series. The first half hour will be networking with refreshments in the Mandeville Lobby

8:30 - 10:00 P.M. Take a Zumba Dancing class in the Mirror Room of the ABC Building, hosted by the Student Programming Board.

9:00 - 10:00 P.M. Join SLAM (Sophisticated Love of the Artistic Mind) if you are interested in expressing yourself through art, music, dance, spoken word or any other artistic outlet. SLAM will be meeting in the Twisted Cafe

Thursday, March 26

12:00 - 2:00 P.M. Enjoy healthy meals in the Twisted Cafe (Student Center Basement). All options under $5.00. 

6:00 - 7:30 P.M. Join the Build On - Lets Educate program where students can learn about how Build On supports the community. (Room 207/209 of the Student Center)

6:00 - 8:00 P.M. The sisters of the Lambda Pi Upsilon Sorority, Inc. will be hosting a discussion to inform students about current events. (Private Dining Room)

8:00 - 10:00 P.M. The Gospel Choir is extending an open invitation to talk about the world and how we can make a difference in it. (Littlefield Theater)

Friday, March 27

1:00 - 5:00 P.M. The VITA Program will be helping international students file tax returns in the Private Dining Room of the Student Center.

3:00 P.M. Come watch the Men's Baseball team compete with Queens of New York. (Home)

7:00 - 9:30 P.M. Come to Room 218 of Mandeville Hall for bible study in Mandarin.

Saturday, March 28

12:00 P.M. 8-Ball Pool tournament in the Student Center Pool Room.  All abilities are welcome to participate.  Prizes and refreshments for participants.

1:00 P.M. Come support the Women's Lacrosse team as they play against Mercy at Knights Field.  

4:00 P.M. Join the renowned poet Sarah Kay with her Poetry Work Shop Art Slam in room 110 of the ABC Building. Included will be small workshops for poetry, art speech, performance of speech. 

7:00 P.M. Join TED Talk's favorite poet Sarah Kay who will be returning to the University of Bridgeport with her partner Phil Kaye in the Little field Theater in the ABC building.Sarah Kay and Phil Kay are spoken-workd poets, TED Talk stars and founders of Project Voice - an organization that uses spoken word poetry as a literacy and empowerment tool. 

All Day - Join the 15th Annual Convention for the Martial Arts School Leaders Seminar and Martial Arts Awards Ceremony in ABC Hall.
