University of Bridgeport (UB) opened a summer enrollment term for the second year in a row as a result of the high demand it has been experiencing over the last two semesters. The overseas recruitment efforts of Enrollment Advisory Group (EAG) have led to record numbers of international students applying. Between the Fall 2022, Spring 2023, and Summer 2023 semesters, the EAG’s efforts have recruited nearly 1,000 new international students.
“EAG’s strong recruitment plan for UB has resulted in a significant increase in applications. From an operations perspective, we worked with UB to streamline the review process with the goal of issuing decisions and I-20s more quickly,” explained Jeffrey Greenip, EAG’s Executive Vice President. “Knowing we had a strong visibility plan between our recruiters and agencies, it was imperative that we work with UB to review their admissions operations and recommend ways to improve the processing of applications so that students could receive their I-20s within a reasonable amount of time. UB’s international leadership has been open to collaborating with EAG and implementing our process improvements, resulting in better enrollments,” Greenip continued.
In fact, EAG increased enrollments from 51 last summer to 132 this summer, a 159% increase. Looking ahead to the fall 2023 semester, international applications are currently up 56% (topping 20,000), and decisions are up 87%.
Dr. Allison Garris, Dean of Admissions at UB, is pleased with the results. “The foundation of our continued success with the enrollment of international students is based on the strong partnership between UB and EAG. Our teams are collaborating so well through every step of the process, and we are appreciative of the support from EAG’s team and its global agencies. We look forward to celebrating further success this fall.”
