The Office of Admissions at the University of Bridgeport has been quite busy over the past few months. The team has been working around the clock to connect and reconnect with some of the most valuable members of our community. It is our priority to see our freshman, transfer, graduate, international, and online students, and every member of our community thrive. This year alone, the Office of Admissions has made an astonishing 42,000 calls to prospective and admitted students and their families.
“We are committed to finding not only the best and brightest students, but those as well who will flourish in the environment we have created and continue to add value to the UB community and our future,” said Jeffrey Mon, Dean of Admissions. “As we look forward to the fall semester, our team is so excited to get back on the road, meet with prospective students, and help them navigate the journey of applying to our school and prepare them for success from the beginning.”
Consider this: when you make the decision to further your education and broaden your capacity for knowledge, Admissions is your first stop. As the face of the university, we recognize how critical our role is in helping students, not only begin, but prepare for life at UB. One of the tools they created is an online checklist. It literally brings you from A to Z so that you don’t miss a beat.
We couldn’t have done all this without our community partners. We have had several volunteers so graciously extend their time and energy, individuals who make a lasting impact and truly are the heart of our community connection. Lorraine Taylor, UB Alumni Association Board Member shared “I enjoy speaking with admitted students and congratulating them on their acceptance to the University of Bridgeport. Volunteers are so important in relaying many of the benefits and support services students receive when they step onto campus from day one.” In addition to her position on the board, Taylor also serves as a Co-Chair for the Student Support Committee as well as a Co-chair on the Martin Luther King Jr., Scholarship Committee.
