Office of Institutional Effectiveness
Academic program development
University of Bridgeport uses a collaborative process for reviewing ideas for new programs. Program development requires approval from the Program Development Committee, a subcommittee of the President’s Cabinet, encompassing faculty, staff, and administrators. This committee meets at least once a month to consider program proposals and is supported by the Office of Institutional Effectiveness.
In addition to university approval, all academic programs are licensed and accredited by the State of Connecticut. When applicable, academic programs are also accredited by professional accrediting agencies.
Have an idea for a new program? Contact the Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness who will talk with you and initiate the research process.
