Frequently asked questions
All eligible May 2024 graduates are able to attend commencement. The Graduation Application is your RSVP for the commencement ceremony. It provides the committee with your updated information for the ceremony and the diploma. Designated faculty (certifiers) will pre-certify students within each academic program to ensure the eligibility of all candidates. The pre-certification process dates for 2024 are TBD.
Once approved for commencement, all eligible May 2024 graduates will receive an email with instructions on how to complete the graduation application. August 2023 and December 2023 graduates will receive communications to their UB email address. The graduation application is due April 5, 2024.
University of Bridgeport will host two May 2024 in-person Commencement Ceremonies. The ceremonies are scheduled for Saturday, May 4, 2024.
Each graduating student will receive 6 tickets for their guests
The $150 graduation fee covers the cost of auditing and maintenance of the student’s academic record. It is not a charge for the ceremony.

Your honor stoles and/or cords will be made available to you from your department chair. Contact your department chair regarding eligibility and distribution of Latin cords. Please note Latin honors are based on UB credits earned and the cumulative GPA received by the fall 2023 semester. Latin honors are only observed for undergraduate students.
Students and faculty in need of regalia, must order directly through Jostens. Orders must be placed no later than March 13 to be shipped to the bookstore, March 28 to be shipped to home.
